Sodium lauryl sulfate is found in many products ranging from soaps, shampoos, toothpastes, body lotion and many more. There is another chemical called Sodium Laureth sulfate. These two chemicals are interlinked with each other.
They say that both these chemicals can cause cancer. As they are generally used to clean the floors, then think about if it is applied on mere skin. Harsh chemicals like carcinogenic is present in it. The customers are lured to buy these products.
Researchers have found that Sodium lauryl sulfate causes irritation to the eyes and skin of animals including. If a product contains sodium laureth sulfate, irritating sensation will increase even more. Though it is not proven whether sodium laureth sulfate is carcinogenic but it is good to avoid using those products in which their presence is known to be very high.
Some researchers tested sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate and found evidence of their safety. They concluded it is safe and secure to use them. How far it is true, I am not sure.
We are casually using various chemical products less aware of the chemical ingredients. To a large extent, we don’t think about the reliability. If a product sounds promising from the outside, we buy it or worse if the product comes on TV with your favorite actor/actress endorsing the product.
At many times, we shut our eyes and blindly purchase the product. Some buy products based on low cost. Skin care products must be carefully bought from stores. If neglected, we have the chance to suffer from a wide variety of skin diseases especially skin cancer. That is why when you buy a product read the ingredient list. After that, you can utilize the product.
My own conclusion- We must always use herbal shampoos available at our grocery shops or Ayurvedic shops. Not only shampoos, if we get a small disease like common cold and cough we go to the physician. We must avoid this at all costs. Sometimes we do not realize that eating tablets is not a substitute for cure. If we have a deadly disease like cancer, going to physician is suggested but for temporary diseases, if we wait for two days or a week, it will wear off by itself. Am I wrong anywhere?
Herbal shampoos, herbal skin hair products, herbal tea, herbal food, etc should be encouraged while other chemical products where preservatives added must be discouraged. Indian products must be sold in India. Foreign products must not enter the border of Indian gate, it is because of greediness many foreign products are sold by respective countries. If a product is available in our own country made by Indians why should we buy other countries produce?
Let us think logically from now on. We will shout at the government, if it allows other country products which are substitute to our country products. First we develop our country, then develop other foreign countries.
